Copyright & User Responsibility
Last updated: May 19, 2026
This policy explains who owns the content you generate on VGCINEMA, what you are responsible for when you use it, and how to report copyright infringement.
1. Ownership of your output
Subject to your compliance with our Terms of Use, you own the videos you generate through the Service, including for commercial use on paid plans. We retain no copyright in your output.
2. Limitations on AI-generated copyright
In some jurisdictions (notably the United States), purely AI-generated material may not be eligible for copyright protection. Your human creative contribution — prompting, editing, sequencing, post-production — typically is protectable. Consult a lawyer before relying on copyright for AI-only output.
3. Your responsibilities as a user
- Don't infringe. Don't prompt the Service to reproduce copyrighted characters, scenes, screenplays, music, or trademarked imagery without rights.
- Don't use real people without consent. See our AI-Generated Content Policy.
- Don't upload material you don't own as a reference or seed.
- Clear rights for commercial use. You are responsible for clearing all rights — music, talent, location — before commercial publication.
- Disclose AI generation where law or platform policy requires.
4. Style is not the same as copyright
Prompting in the style of a director, photographer, or studio is generally permitted (style is not protected by copyright), but copying specific copyrighted scenes, characters, or works is not. Trademark and publicity rights still apply.
5. DMCA / copyright notices
If you believe content generated or hosted on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent at dmca@vgcinema.ai including:
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
- Identification and URL of the allegedly infringing material.
- Your contact information (name, address, phone, email).
- A statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorized.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act for the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
6. Counter-notices & repeat-infringer policy
Subjects of takedowns may submit a counter-notice. Accounts of users who repeatedly infringe will be terminated. We do not refund credits or subscription fees for accounts terminated for infringement.
7. No legal advice
This page is informational and not legal advice. AI and copyright law is rapidly evolving — consult a qualified attorney for your specific situation.
